Forwarding Emails in Gmail

Whilst it is recommended that you sign in to your new Google account frequently to ensure you get best use out of its features such as Google Drive and Google Groups – we also want to make it as easy as possible for you to get access to your incoming mail. If you feel you would benefit from forwarding on emails to your own private email account you can follow these instructions. Before doing so you should carefully consider the implications of this as your Parent Council email address will be published and made available to the entire Parent Forum.

Forwarding Email

  1. Sign in to your Google Account
  2. Click on the cog on the right hand side of the page:


  1. Click on Settings:



  1. Select Forwarding and POP/IMAP from the selection of blue tabs:


  1. Select Add a forwarding address:


  1. A box will appear – enter in the email address that you want messages forwarded to and click on Next:


  1. Confirm by clicking Proceed:


  1. Click OK:
  2. You will now have received an email from the Gmail team with a verification code
  3. Enter in the verification code you received and then click Verify:
